Sea Link Approved

Sea Link Approved – A Disappointing Day for Saxmundham and neighbouring villages.

We are deeply disappointed by the Secretary of State’s decision to approve Sea Link, despite the overwhelming concerns raised by our communities over the past three years.

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported the campaign, attended meetings, submitted objections, written letters, raised funds and given their time and energy to protect our beautiful Suffolk countryside and communities.

The determination, resilience and unity shown by so many people have been truly remarkable. We should all be proud of what we have achieved together.

Although this is not the outcome we had hoped for, our efforts have not been in vain. We have made our voices heard, challenged the proposals and demonstrated the strength of our communities.

We will now carefully review the Secretary of State’s decision and the Examining Authority’s recommendations report. If there are grounds and viable routes to challenge the decision, we will endeavour to pursue them.

For now, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has stood with us over the past three years. Your support, commitment and determination have meant so much.

This may be a setback, but our commitment to protecting Suffolk and advocating for a more sustainable and resilient electricity grid remains unchanged.
